Barry studied at Shrewsbury College in Shropshire where he gained an Advanced Craft City & Guilds in painting and decorating after completing a 3 year apprenticeship.

He set up his own company, which he ran for 20 years before returning to Shrewsbury to take the position as Lecturer.

Whist teaching at College he gained an A1 Assessor award and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education at Glyndwr University.

Barry trained students to compete in various high profile competitions including Dulux Apprentice of the Year, The Painting and Decorating Association Young Paperhanger of the Year, Johnstone's Painter of the Year and a place at the Skillbuild National Finals for the last 3 years running.

Barry has appeared on a wide range of TV programmes demonstrating his painting skills.

Barry was previously the Guinness World Record Holder as the fastest wallpaper hanger.

He has appeared on a wide range of television programmes including DIY SOS - The Veterans Special in Manchester, Hopesay, Rotherham and most recently in Telford.

He also decorated on 60 minute makeover in Leicester and Southend-On-Sea and his installation of wallpaper murals were featured on Dragons Den.

During his career he has worked on some prestigious properties including Buckingham Palace - where he was offered a position working for the Royal Household, The Hyde Park Hotel, Wimbledon Number 1 Court, Shrewsbury Abbey and Attingham Park

Barry has now settled at Lucas in his new role as YouTube presenter and Training Manager.
